Guided Meditation | Heart Center & Love

Soothing guided meditation for the heart. Eucalyptus oil for breathing and community compassion.

Heart Center Chakra

The heart is the fourth chakra, and it is the bridge between your upper and lower chakras, and between you and others.

Find this area with your hands. It is located in the natural center of your chest.

This chakra holds the center of love, empathy, and compassion. It is represented by the element air and the color green.

A balanced heart center means you feel connected to everything around you. You have a sense of empathy and compassion for others. Others around you feel acceptance from you without reservation. You have a great capacity to appreciate beauty in the world. You love freely, with no strings attached. You truly love yourself.

Imbalances in your heart chakra disrupt the health of this chakra and the corresponding body areas and systems. physical heart, lungs, and thymus gland (part of the immune system).

Essential Oil Enhancement

To complement this guided meditation, I use eucalyptus essential oil to improve breathing and light pain relief. The best eucalyptus oil I have access to is Young Living.

Take 3 inhalations of aromatherapy. Apply oil mixed into lotion to the chest and/or shoulders.

Body-Mind-Spirit Self-Massage

Sit up with head over heart, heart over hips. With open hand-over-hand, gently but firmly circulate around the center of your chest.

Do this until your hands and chest are warm. You are promoting blood flow and lymphatic draining, and using a body-mind motion that opens your heart.

Hold your hands lovingly over your heart.

This self-soothing technique sends compassion, trustworthiness, and connection to your own heart. You are over your heart organ and lungs, which perform the most important functions for life. If you can’t breathe well and if your heart isn’t pumping well, you will not be living well.

FULLY exhale, breathing out stale air from the bottom of your lungs.

This is a Yang Sheng technique for detoxification and an easy brighten-up practice.

Meditation

Get comfortable and find a position you can stay in for the rest of the meditation. Lay, sit. Close your eyes. If it’s comfortable for you, you can bring one hand to your heart and the other to your belly.

Honor yourself and shift when needed. Come gently back to the message whenever your mind wanders into other areas of yourself.

Spread your collar bones wide, opening up the space that holds your heart. Bring your awareness to the space that surrounds your heart. Notice this space rise and fall with your breath.

As you inhale, feel your belly expand and fill your lungs with fresh air. As you exhale, feel your belly contract, emptying out creating space for new awareness.

The lesson of the heart is that we must fully love and accept ourselves before we can love and accept others.

Now, bring your attention to your spine behind the center of your chest. A tiny emerald green light spins there. This light is unconditional love, and green is the trees on earth that symbiotically breathe with us. Your house plants. Money.

On your next inhale, grow this light to the size of your heart. Breathe in clean, full-life air through your nostrils. Imagine you’re breathing in medicinal emerald light, smell your eucalyptus. Settle into your heart space. It brings with it warmth — making the entire upper body feel toasty and cozy.

On your next exhale, breathe out this light into the space around you, and it grows to surround your whole body and infuses your aura.

Continue to breathe, in and out, with this green light in and all around you.

The side effects of this energetic medicine: Your self-love increases. Your love for others begins to increase. You see the world as a beautiful place, and you see the beauty in yourself. Gratitude.

By opening our hearts we can allow love from others to come in. You are so brave to have an open heart. If you have experienced heartbreak, grief, or other pain to the heart, that means you have already opened yourself up enough to give and receive love. You are so brave to open your heart bigger than you ever have before, letting the trapped emotions move freely and releasing storage with the simple action of breathing out. Breathing in. Breathing out. Short pause.

Now we will do some real heart work. Take a moment here to call to mind someone, or multiple people, whom you love. Bring their beautiful faces very clearly into your mind’s eye. Now allow love to radiate from your heart space out and into this person. Smile at each other. Now call to mind someone, or multiple people, who you have a tough relationship with. Bring their beautiful faces very clearly into your mind’s eye. Now allow love to radiate from your heart space out and into this person or people. Smile at each other.

Envision your mom, mother figure, or Mother Earth. Smile. Envision your dad, father figure, or space. Smile. Now call to mind yourself — picture yourself here in this room. Bring your beautiful face very clearly into your mind’s eye. Receive the love that was sent back to you. Very good, now relax and feel all the love you and we all have sent out.
